Get Up and Go Club, Windmill Hill - Group Evaluation

The purpose of the evaluation was to see if attending the group had any effect on the lives of the odler people that attend the monthly group meetings which involve various activities, arts and craft projects and speakers from either the voluntary or statutory sector.  It also offered the opportunity to receive any feedback and suggestions from the participants regarding the group and its future.

The group was set up to enable larger numbers of isolated older people to come together, to support each other and thereby reducing social isolation. The monthly ‘get togethers’ are facilitated by one person i.e. the Age Concern Halton coordinator rather than one volunteer per one or two older persons. There is also evidence that group participation has strong benefits on a person general health and well-being.
